The year 2023 marked the 85th anniversary of the Polenaktion, the deportation of Polish Jews from Germany to Zb\u0105szy\u0144. For the local community, this event was hugely significant. The town of 4,000 people took in about 8,000 deportees overnight. This anniversary also has great significance for the living descendants of the rescued Jews, who visit Zb\u0105szy\u0144 to seek traces of their families\u2019 time there. Since 2008 the TRES Foundation has maintained zbaszyn1938.pl, a bilingual portal with a searchable database of documents related to the deportees\u2019 stay in Zb\u0105szy\u0144. The goal of the project was to add new documents to the database and the publication of a bilingual catalog for an exhibition mounted in the old train station.
