Marian Turski “Thou Shalt Not Be Indifferent” Fund

“Let us not be afraid to convince ourselves that we need to have a vision not only of what is today, but of what will be tomorrow, of what will be in several decades” – Marian Turski, January 27, 2025 at Auschwitz

The last words of Marian Turski’s speech, spoken on January 27, 2025 during the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp at Auschwitz, sounded like a call to action. Together with the Family, the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland establishes the Marian Turski “Thou Shalt Not Be Indifferent” Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to continue the mission of Marian Turski, who fought with full commitment, almost until the very end, for the future, a world without discrimination, anti-Semitism, indifference.

ABOUT THE FUND

The Fund, in the form of endowment, will support initiatives that counteract exclusion and discrimination based on nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation, with particular emphasis on combating anti-Semitism, racism and xenophobia.

A special Committee of the Fund will be established, consisting of representatives of the Family, Association, authorities and people close to Marian Turski, whose task will be to ensure that the supported projects implement Marian Turski’s life mission – the fight against all forms of discrimination.

We are committed to announcing the first supported projects on the 100th anniversary of Marian Turski’s birthday in June 2026.

Together we fight discrimination – “we are not indifferent”.
