Privacy Policy

1. General provisions

  1. In order to ensure that the privacy of Users of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland Service is protected and to ensure compliance with Polish law, the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland, established at ul. Tłomackie 3/5 Warsaw, Poland (hereinafter referred to as the Association), publishes a document which elucidates and outlines how data provided by Users of the Service (hereinafter referred to as Users) is collected, processed, and protected.

2. Gromadzenie i przetwarzanie danych przez Stowarzyszenie

  1. The Association collects information about Users’ interactions with the Service, content and services, including information regarding the User’s device and logging in, i.e.
    system logs, containing the date, time of visit and IP address of the device on which the connection was established.
  2. The Association, established at ul. Tłomackie 3/5, 00-090 Warsaw, Poland, is the administrator of the personal data provided by Users of the Service. The Association processes the data by permission of the User and in accordance with the binding legal regulations, including the Act of 29 August 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Act of 18 July 2002 on the Provision of Electronic Services.

3. Use and provision of personal data

  1. User data is used for the following purposes: compiling statistics and improving content and services, informing about the activities of the Association, conducting marketing and/or publicity campaigns if the User has expressed agreement, and sending out a free Newsletter with information about the Association if the User has signed up for the Newsletter.
  2. The Association does not grant access to Users’ personal data to third parties unless the User specifically and clearly authorizes this, or unless requested by legally authorized agencies.
  3. The Association may publish anonymous global statistics regarding e.g. the number of people visiting the Service. These data, however, do not allow individual users to be identified and are not by definition personal data.

4. Access to and right to modify personal data

  1. Users providing their personal data to the Association retain the right to inspect and update their data as well as to remove them.

5. Cookies and other automatic data storage tools on the User’s end device and/or transmitted automatically by the User

  1. The Service uses automatic data storage tools (cookies, e-Tag) to better adapt the Service to the needs of Users. For the purposes of this Policy, automatic data storage tools shall be referred to as “cookies.”
  2. Cookies are files saved on the User’s end device which allow to identify the User’s browser when the User is visiting the Service. Cookies allow the Administrator to collect statistical data concerning User traffic and activity.
  3. Most cookie files are session cookies which are automatically deleted from the User’s hard drive once the session has been terminated. Some cookie files allow the User to be identified when they revisit the Service – they are not deleted automatically and are saved to the end device.
  4. The user may disable cookies in their browser at any time, but this may cause some disruption in providing the services offered through the Service.
  5. As in the case of stationary equipment, cookies are also used on mobile devices to allow us to remember information connected to a specific User.
  6. The content of cookie files does not allow to identify a given User; cookies are not used to process or store personal data.

6. Links to other websites

  1. This document only applies to the Service operated by the Association. The Association does not bear responsibility for links in the Service, allowing Users to go directly to sites that are not administered by the Association.

7. Technical and administrative data protection mechanisms

  1. The information provided by Users is processed and stored in a secure way, subject to the protection requirements set by Polish law.
  2. The Association protects Users’ data against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
  3. Data are processed in a controlled environment, subject to high security standards.
