The project implemented by the Association of the Museum of Białystok Jews aimed to restore the memory of the Jewish community that continued to exist in Białystok after the end of World War II—contrary to the widespread belief that it had disappeared entirely. The activities included collecting personal testimonies, photographs, and documents from Jews originating from Białystok who now live, among others, in Israel, the United States, Canada, and Australia, as well as from residents of the Podlasie region who remember their former neighbors.

As part of the project, an academic and remembrance conference was organized, an exhibition in public space was created, a series of postcards was produced, and a documentary film summarizing the entire initiative was made. The project enabled both the local community and descendants of Białystok Jews to reconnect and jointly commemorate this important chapter in the city’s history. The project was carried out from June 2024 to June 2025.
