The project “Every Day I Feel Regret,” implemented by the Alojzy Smolka Opole Puppet and Actor Theatre, focused on the preparation and staging of a theatrical performance dedicated to Miep Gies—one of the Righteous Among the Nations, who risked her life to hide the Frank family in occupied Amsterdam.
As part of the project, a monodrama was created combining live acting with puppetry forms, enriched with music, set design, and costumes.
The project included two performances: a pre-premiere show for young audiences accompanied by a discussion, and a premiere performance for adult viewers. The aim was to commemorate the courageous actions of Miep Gies, raise awareness of the Holocaust among younger generations, and incorporate the production into the theatre’s regular repertoire in order to continue historical and artistic education in future seasons.
