The ghetto in Otwock was the second-largest in Warsaw district; in less than two years, more than 14,000 people passed through it. The ghetto was liquidated on August 19, 1942, and Otwock’s Jews were deported and murdered in the Treblinka extermination camp. The goal of the project was to mark, in the public space, the boundaries of the ghetto with plaques, commemorating in this way a tragic chapter in the town’s history.
