The project complemented earlier initiatives carried out at the Jewish Cemetery in Trzemeszno, including the creation of a memorial and a lapidarium. As part of the project, a commemorative plaque was installed and the book “Restoring the Memory of the Jews of Trzemeszno” was published. The publication presents the history of the local Jewish community, its contribution to the development of the town, and the efforts of local residents to preserve this memory.
The project built upon earlier work at the Jewish Cemetery in Trzemeszno—the establishment of a memorial and a lapidarium. It included the preparation of a commemorative plaque and the publication of the book “Restoring the Memory of the Jews of Trzemeszno,” which outlines the history of the local Jewish community, its role in the town’s development, and community-driven efforts to safeguard remembrance.
The publication was released in an expanded and visually appealing format: 112 pages, hardcover, high-quality album paper, and numerous photographs, including large-format images. A total of 360 copies were printed. The book is also available online at zydzi-trzemeszno.pl, as well as in libraries (including the National Library) and in institutions and organizations across the country.
The project’s primary audiences are students, non-governmental organizations, tourists, and residents of the municipality. A demonstration lesson and a book launch were planned for the autumn. The project was implemented with the involvement of historians, regional scholars, librarians, community activists, and photographers connected with Trzemeszno.
