On May 25, 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation “GDPR” enters into force, ie. a new EU regulation aimed at modernizing and unifying the regulations on the protection of personal data applicable in the EU. Therefore, we send the following information:

Your personal data (name and surname*, address*/e-mail address*, telephone*) are in our databases kept by the “Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland”.

We have used best efforts and implemented required procedures to ensure their safety.

The administrator of your personal data is the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland with its registered office in Warsaw (address: 00-090 Warsaw, Tłomackie street number 3/5, REGON: 000806795, Tax Identification Number: 526-03-08-022), entered into the Register of Associations, other social and professional organizations, foundations and public healthcare institutions of the National Court Register kept by the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw in Warsaw, XII Commercial Department of the National Court Register under KRS number: 0000020904.

You have the right to access your data, correct, delete or limit processing, as well as the right to transfer these data to another administrator.

Your personal data may be transferred to our subcontractors (- IT service providers), POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute – solely for the purpose of achieving our statutory goalstasks.

You may file a complaint with the Supervising Body over the regulations regarding personal data protection rights at any time, if you have a feeling that the processing of your data violates the provisions of GDPR.

 

The legal basis for the processing of personal data contained in the databases kept by the Jewish Historical Institute in Poland is art. 6 par. 1 point f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), i.e a legitimate interest pursued by the data administrator.

 

This means that personal data from the above database will be processed for the purpose of sending informational materials, as well as for analytical, statistical and possible establishment and settlement purposes as well as defense against claims. Personal data will be processed until the opposition is filed. This period may be extended until the expiration of the possible claims, if the processing of personal data is necessary to assert or defend against such claims.
