The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, founded in 1951, has been the historic representative of the Jewish people dedicated to securing compensation, the return of seized property and support for Holocaust survivors or their heirs. The Claims Conference negotiates with the German and Austrian governments and industry to obtain payments and restitution for Holocaust victims. Through property recovery and negotiations, the Claims Conference has obtained and allocated $2.5 billion for vital services to improve the lives of victims of Nazi persecution in 47 countries. The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany has provided $1.2 million for the production of the Holocaust gallery, which is part of the Core Exhibition of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
