Frank Stella and Synagogues of Historic Poland

POLIN Museum not only presented unique works of New York artist, Frank Stella, but also a fascinating story behind their creation.

It is the first time the series of reliefs entitled “Polish Village” has been compared with Stella’s sources of inspiration – prewar photographs and drawings of the synagogues on which they had been based. Impressive scenography of the exhibition made the seemingly distant worlds: of wooden synagogues and American contemporary art permeate before visitors’ eyes. The exhibition was one of the world’s top 15 exhibitions in 2016, according to Hyperallergic, an American online magazine.
