Nimrod S. Ariav passed away

The Association mourns the loss of Mr. Nimrod S. Ariav, Distinguished Benefactor of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and a dear friend, who passed away on August 3 in Israel.

Nimrod S. Ariav was born on 24 September 1926 in Lublin, as Szolem Cygielman, to Marta and Lejb Cygielman. He cared deeply about Bełżyce, where his family came from, and was active in commemorating the Jewish past of Bełżyce.

He fought in the Warsaw Uprising and for the independence of Israel.

He left behind a legacy of caring for meaningful education and Polish-Jewish relationships.

Thanks to his support POLIN Museum carried out educational projects in the Lublin region and projects devoted to the activists who actively commemorate the Jewish past of their hometowns.

May his memory be a blessing.
