Documentation and preservation of the sukkah on the balcony of an apartment at 23a Reformacka Street in Chełm is a project of the Panorama of Cultures Foundation. The sukkah is a temporary booth. During Sukkot, the Feast of Tarbernacles, the family would take their meals in the sukkah. As it is required that the sky be visible through the roof, Polish versions of the sukkah have a mechanism for opening the roof flaps.
