Sara Schenirer: A Graphic Novel is dedicated to the woman who revolutionized the education of religious girls. Born into a Hasidic family at a time when there were no schools for Orthodox girls, she created the Beys Yankev school system for them. Her schools combined religious and secular subjects. Working with graphic designers, artists, and historians, the Mifgash Foundation and Hillel Poland are creating a graphic novel based on Schenirer’s life. Their goal is to raise awareness of this exceptional woman among both youth and adults. After all, comics are a medium that connects generations.
