Setting up matsevahs to mark 24 graves

Grant for the Zapomniane Foundation Setting up matsevahs to mark 24 graves

Wooden matsevahs were set up to mark 24 graves, anonymous and forgotten, based on information that the Zapomniane Foundation has been gathering for many years. Traces of the Holocaust include not only monuments at former death camps, mass graves, and ghettos, but also thousands of forgotten graves of individual victims scattered across Poland. Whatever memory of them remains is only local, and for today’s inhabitants, these are often cursed places, places to which you do not go.
