The aim of this project is to translate and the Book of Remembrance from Wojsławic, as well as share it with a wide audience.
From around 16th century the community of this town has been represented by Jews, Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, so followers of Judaism, Orthodoxy or Catholicism.
The tragic events during World War II and the Holocaust put an end to the traditional coexistence of various cultures. The synagogues, Orthodox and Catholic churches are still standing, but the memories are starting to fade, and the book is one of the most valuable sources of knowledge on the life of this town. Fragments of the translation will also be used at the upcoming permanent exhibition in the former synagogue.
