Kcynia’s Jewish community lived in the town from the beginning of the 16th century. Currently, the only material traces of its existence are the matzevahs collected at the Jewish cemetery, which the Jan Czochralski Primary School plans to inventory and publish a brochure devoted to them with translations of inscriptions and photographs. Lectures for students will also be organized, combined with workshops on the symbolism of matzevahs and Jewish funeral customs.
