In King Matt’s Poland. 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence

The exhibition is based on the book titled King Matt I by Janusz Korczak.

In 2017 we joined POLIN Museum in preparation of the next exhibition project (Nov. 9th, 2018 – March 4th, 2019), based on the book titled King Matt I by Janusz Korczak, which was written as a response to the major political events happening at the time – the end of WW1, and the rebirth and reconstruction of Polish statehood.
In his book, Korczak educates the children on the mechanisms of executing power, and on the great effort and responsibility required to govern a country.

We wish to celebrate the centenary of the independence by encouraging – similarly to Korczak at the time of Poland regaining independence – the ‘adults,’ both big and small, to reflect upon the meaning of freedom, responsibility, democratic state, and self-governing community.
