Memoir of Perec Granatsztejn

A subsidy for the Gszarim Foundation.

Sokołów: My Destroyed Town was first published in 1946 in Buenos Aires. This memorial book is the memoir of Perec Granatsztejn, who emigrated from Poland to Bolivia and then to Argentina in 1939. He published his books in Yiddish, the language spoken by Jews in his hometown, but completely unheard there today. This memoir, now translated into Polish and published by the Gszarim Foundation, is an exceptional resource for local residents interested in the history of their town and its Jewish residents. The full translation is available online at www.sokolow.jewish.pl.
